§7300 "PARKING METER ZONES" DEFINED

"Parking meter zones" shall mean portions of streets described and established by the Council in this Chapter as zones within which the parking of vehicles shall be controlled, regulated and inspected with the aid of timing devices or meters herein referred to as parking meters or meters. §7301 PARKING METER ZONES ESTABLISHED

The following portions of streets described in this Chapter are hereby established as parking meter zones. (Ord. 388, §2, adopted 1946)

§7302 STATE STREET

State Street from the intersection of Gibson Creek to the southerly line of Clay Street. (Ord. 388, §2, adopted 1946)

§7303 SCHOOL STREET

School Street from the north boundary line of the Parking District to the south boundary line of the Parking District, both sides. (Ord. 388, §2, adopted 1946; amd. by Ord. 741, §4, adopted 1980)

§7304 CHURCH STREET

Church Street from the westerly line of Main Street to the westerly line of School Street. (Ord. 388, §2, adopted 1946)

§7305 PERKINS STREET TO SCHOOL STREET

Perkins Street from the westerly line of Main Street to the easterly line on School Street, both sides. (Ord. 388; amd. by Ord. 473, §1, adopted 1953; Ord. 712, §1, adopted 1978)

§7317 CITY TRAFFIC ENGINEER TO INSTALL NECESSARY PARKING METERS

The City Traffic Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to install parking meters in all parking meter zones heretofore or hereafter established for the purpose of, and in such numbers and at such places and limiting parking to such periods as in his judgment may be necessary for the regulation, control and inspection of the parking of vehicles. §7318 PARKING METER TIME LIMITS

Parking meters installed pursuant to Section 7317 of this Chapter may limit parking to a period of not to exceed one hour, a period of not to exceed twenty four (24) minutes, or any other period provided notice of the parking meter time limits is given by signs or on the parking meter. (Ord. 554, §2, adopted 1963)

§7319 PAYMENTS TO BE DEPOSITED IN PARKING METERS

Parking meters installed pursuant to Section 7317 of this Chapter shall, when properly operated, be adjusted so as to show legal parking during a period of twelve (12) minutes for each one cent ($0.01) of the United States of America upon and after the deposit therein of the proper coin or coins of the United States of America, up to the parking meter time limit.
