§8200 IMPROVEMENT PLAN

After approval of the tentative map by the City Council and prior to the start of any construction work or submission of the final map, the subdivider shall submit to the City Engineer an improvement plan which shall consist of the following:

A.    A grading plan of the entire subdivision.

B.    Profiles drawn to scale on standard plate "A" plan and profile sheets, showing centerline, ground and grade elevations of all streets, highways, ways, alleys, sanitary and storm sewers, drainage ways, water and gas lines and curbs and gutters.

C.    Detailed plans and specifications for street, grading construction of base and surfacing, curbs, gutters and sidewalks, drainage facilities, water mains, sewers and gas mains.

All elevations of the foregoing plans to be referred to U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey Datum (Ukiah City Datum) accompanying said plans and specifications shall be accompanied by such engineering data as may be required to check the adequacy of such improvements. §8201 APPROVAL OF IMPROVEMENT PLAN BY CITY ENGINEER

The City Engineer shall inspect the improvement plan for compliance with the provisions of this Chapter and standard engineering practice, and any other requirements of the City. Within ten (10) days after receipt of the improvement plans, the City Engineer shall approve or disapprove said plans. Such action shall be taken in writing. (Ord. 533, §5.12, adopted 1958)

§8203 INSPECTION OF IMPROVEMENT CONSTRUCTION BY CITY ENGINEER

The City Engineer shall make or cause to be made such inspections as he may deem necessary to assure that all construction is in accordance with the approved improvement plan. In no case shall such inspections be less than as set forth in this Article for the particular improvements. (Ord. 533, §5.2, adopted 1958)

§8204 INSPECTION OF STREET CONSTRUCTION

Inspection of street construction by the City Engineer shall be made at least as often as the following:

A.    An inspection of the subgrade shall be made prior to placing of the base.

B.    An inspection of the base course shall be made prior to the application of the prime coat.

C.    An inspection shall be made during the spreading of the prime coat.

D.    An inspection shall be made during the placing of the surface. (Ord. 533, §5.21, 5.211, 5.214, adopted 1958)

§8205 INSPECTION OF WATER MAINS

As inspection including a pressure-leakage test shall be made by the City Engineer of water mains before completion of street mains and before valves and joints are covered. Each service lateral may be inspected individually or with the mains. (Ord. 533, §5.22, adopted 1958)

§8206 INSPECTION OF SEWERS

An inspection, including a pressure-leakage test on sewer mains and laterals, shall be made by the City Engineer before backfilling over joints. (Ord. 533, §5.23, adopted 1958)

§8208 INSPECTION OF CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION

On any concrete construction the City Engineer shall make inspections at least as often as the following:

A.    An inspection of the forms.

B.    An inspection of the pouring.

C.    An inspection of the completed work. (Ord. 533, §5.25, adopted 1958)

§8209 INSPECTION OF OTHER FACILITIES

Inspection of other structures and facilities will be made in accordance with a schedule to be provided by the City Engineer. (Ord. 533, §5.26, adopted 1958)

§8210 NOTICE FOR INSPECTION; AUTHORIZATION REQUIRED BEFORE PROCEEDING TO NEXT PHASE OF CONSTRUCTION

The subdivider shall inform the City Engineer 24 hours in advance of the time he requires an inspection. He shall not, however, proceed to the next phase of construction until authorized by the City Engineer or his authorized representative. (Ord. 533, §5.27, adopted 1958)

§8211 FEES FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES

Before the final map is approved, the subdivider shall deposit with the City Director of Finance in cash the costs of engineering services made by the City, according to a resolution adopted from time to time by the City Council establishing fees for engineering services.
