2.10.010 Standards of establishing position classes.

Each class of positions shall include positions sufficiently similar in respect to duties and responsibilities so that the same or a similar descriptive title may be used to designate each position allocated to the class; the same qualifications for appointment exist; the tests of ability or selection are substantially the same; and the positions merit the same salary range. In order for a position to belong in a class, it is necessary for it to meet all of these requirements. [Ord. 5-16-95 § 1-201]

2.10.020 Change of classification.

The board of directors may amend or abolish a class or position and it may establish, amend, or abolish provisions relating to a class or position within the class. [Ord. 5-16-95 § 1-202]

2.10.030 Class descriptions.

Each position within a class shall have a job description, which shall describe the duties, responsibilities, working conditions, and minimum qualifications. The job description is not intended to be all-inclusive but rather an indication of a position’s range of responsibility and does not limit the authority of the general manager, or designee, to assign other related duties or to direct and control the work of employees. The board of directors shall adopt, amend or abolish all class descriptions. Amendments to class descriptions are subject to the meet and confer process. [Ord. 5-16-95 § 1-203]
