CHAPTER 8. PURCHASING SYSTEM

2-8.01 Purchase of Supplies, Services and Equipment.

The City Council shall adopt by resolution a policy for the purchase of supplies, services and equipment. (2340, as amended by §1, Ord. 1206, eff. April 17, 1974, by §1(part), Ord. 1441, eff. October 4, 1979)

2-8.02 Purchasing Officer.

The City Manager is appointed the purchasing officer of the City. The duties of the purchasing officer may be combined with those of any other City officer or position. The City Manager may delegate his or her duties as purchasing officer to other City staff. The purchasing officer or his or her designated representative shall have the duties prescribed by resolution of the City Council. The City Manager or his or her designated representatives may sign contracts on behalf of the City when authorized by ordinance, resolution or other action of the City Council."
