POLICE DEPARTMENT

2.50.030 Chief of police – Duties.

2.50.010 Establishment.
There is hereby established a police department for the village of Donnelly, which shall consist of a chief of police and such assistant policemen as may be appointed from time to time by the board of trustees. [Ord. 3 Art. IV § 1, 1952.]
2.50.020 Term of office.
Such police officers shall hold their appointments during the fiscal year unless sooner removed by the board of trustees. [Ord. 3 Art. IV § 2, 1952.]
2.50.030 Chief of police – Duties.
The chief of police shall be chief of the acting police and all assistant officers shall be subordinate to him and subject to his orders. It shall be his duty to cause the public peace to be preserved and to see that all laws and ordinances are enforced within the village limits, and when any violation thereof shall come to his knowledge or be reported to him, he shall cause the requisite complaint to be made and see that all possible evidence is produced for the successful prosecution of offenders. 2.50.040 Chief of police – Salary.
The chief of police as such chief of police and ex officio license and tax collector shall be paid the sum of _____ per month beginning ___________. [Ord. 3 Art. IV § 4, 1952.]
2.50.050 Policemen – Duties.
It shall be the duty of the assistant police to aid and assist the chief of police in the execution of his duties herein enjoined, both as chief of police and license and tax collector, and to perform his duties when he is absent from the village, sick, or when ordered by him. [Ord. 3 Art. IV § 5, 1952.]
