ENTERTAINMENT LICENSES

5-40-030 Qualification of licensee.
5-40-010 License required.
Every person furnishing music or other entertainment to his guests shall pay an annual fee of five hundred dollars ($500.00). Where the only entertainment provided or proposed to be provided is a single mechanical instrument and no dance floor is maintained, no license is required, but an application shall be filed stating in detail the entertainment proposed. 5-40-020 Application.
Application shall be made to the clerk and approved by the mayor before issuance thereof. (Prior code § 5-51-2)
5-40-030 Qualification of licensee.
No license shall be issued to any person not of good moral character, nor to any firm or corporation whose officers or managers, or any of them, have not a good moral character. (Prior code § 5-51-3)
5-40-040 Terms of licenses.
Except where otherwise provided, all licenses or permits shall expire on the thirtieth day of April of the year following that in which issued, unless such license or permit is issued for a period of time less than a year, and in no case shall prorating be made which will relieve the licensee from payment of less than one-half of the license year, and no prorating shall be made in the first six months of the license year.
