16-44-010 MI medical institutional district established.
The MI medical institutional district is established as a district in which the principal future use of the land will be to expand medical institutions which are unique in character such as Ingalls Memorial Hospital or similar extended health care facilities and the allied services dependent on them. The intent of this district is to protect the existing institutional facilities by prohibiting encroachment of nonrelated, incompatible uses and to set aside adjacent lands for possible future expansion; to stabilize the residential neighborhoods adjacent to the hospital against possible detrimental effects that might be created due to their close proximity to the health facilities. 16-44-020 Permitted principal uses.
Permitted principal uses in the MI district are as follows:
Clinics and service
Doctors and dentist offices
Extended care facility
Florist shops
Gift shops
Hospitals
Single detached dwelling units. (Ord. 2286 § 15.1, 1982)
16-44-030 Permitted accessory uses.
Permitted accessory uses in the MI district are as follows:
Fences as permitted in Chapter 16-68
Off-street parking and loading as permitted in Chapter 16-72
Signs as permitted in Chapter 16-64. (Ord. 2286 § 15.2, 1982)
16-44-040 Permitted special uses.
In the MI district, the following uses are conditional on the approval of the planning and zoning commission and the city council. See Sections 16-04-310 through 16-04-370 of this code for further information.
A. Cannabis craft grower;
B. Cannabis dispensaries;
C. Cannabis dispensaries, medical;
D. Cannabis infusers;
E. Churches;
F. Convalescent homes and convalescent centers;
G. Day care centers;
H. Drug store and pharmaceutical supplies;
I. Governmental facilities including, but not limited to, the following uses:
1. Commuting terminals,
2. Cultural centers,
3. Fire stations,
4. Police stations,
5. Parking structures,
6. Recreation areas,
7. Shelter care centers as permitted in Chapter 16-92 of this code,
8. Utilities;
J. Heliport;
K. Mortuaries;
L. Planned unit developments as permitted in Chapter 16-56 of this code;
M. Parking structures;
N. Special education schools/training centers;
