2.13.010 Deputy clerk – Appointment.

There is created the office of deputy clerk. The deputy clerk shall be appointed by the village clerk. The deputy clerk shall have the power and duty to execute all documents required by any law or ordinance to be executed by the village clerk and affix the seal of the village thereto whenever required, and to perform such other duties as may be assigned by the village clerk. 2.13.020 Deputy clerk – Signing of documents.

When signing any documents, the deputy clerk shall sign the name of the village clerk followed by the word “By” and the deputy clerk’s own name and the words “deputy clerk.” (Ord. 2006-03 § 2, 2006)

2.13.030 Deputy clerk – Authorization to exercise powers and duties.

The powers and duties described in this chapter shall be exercised by the deputy clerk only in the absence of the village clerk from his or her office in the Village Hall, and only when either written direction has been given by the village clerk to exercise such power, or the board of trustees has determined by resolution that the village clerk is temporarily or permanently incapacitated to perform such function. 2.13.040 Deputy clerk – Authority and power generally.

The deputy clerk shall have the authority and power described in this chapter, and such further power and authority as may be provided by statute. (Ord. 2006-03 § 2, 2006)

2.13.050 Deputy clerk – Supervision of clerk’s office.

The deputy clerk shall supervise the employees of the clerk’s office. The deputy clerk shall be responsible for the supervision of the junior clerks. (Ord. 2011-22B § 3, 2011; Ord. 2006-03 § 2, 2006)
