VILLAGE PROSECUTOR

2.28.010 Appointment – Term.

There is created the office of village prosecutor, who shall be appointed by the president with the advice and consent of the board of trustees. He shall be appointed for one year, or until a successor is appointed.

2.28.020 Duties.

The prosecutor shall perform the following duties:

A. Prosecute all violations of the village ordinances before the judges;

B. Prosecute all proceedings before the local liquor commission;

C. Prosecute all proceedings in which the village is legally interested before the State of Illinois Liquor Commission and the prosecution and defense of all appeals in connection therewith;

D. Aid and assist the village attorney in performing the duties required of him upon request of the village attorney.

2.28.030 Compensation.

The compensation of the prosecutor for the performance of the duties mentioned in RMC 2.28.020 shall be such as is fixed from time to time by the president and board of trustees. If no such compensation is fixed, he shall be entitled to a fair and reasonable value for his services.
