8.61.010 Definitions.

The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed hereafter:

A. “Department” means the village of Riverdale fire rescue department.

B. “Resident” means an individual who permanently resides within the village.

C. “Response” means any call or incident requiring the department to respond regardless of the call initiation; actions may include incident assessment, control operations, containment, abatement of hazards and actions to reduce the likelihood of secondary damage.

D. “Nonresident” means an individual who does not permanently reside within the village.

E. “Transport” means done by the village of Riverdale fire rescue ambulance.

F. “Village” means the village of Riverdale, Cook County, Illinois. (Ord. 2013-28 § 2, 2013)

8.61.020 Charges for motor vehicle responses.

There is hereby established a fee schedule for services provided by the department as a result of a response for motor vehicle services:

The fees set forth in this section shall be billed as soon as practical after services are rendered. (Ord. 2013-28 § 2, 2013)

8.61.030 Charges for hazardous material responses.

There is hereby established a fee schedule for services provided by the department as a result of a response for hazardous material services, or any type of product leaks or spills in any quantity that poses a risk to pedestrian or vehicular traffic, separate and in addition to any services or fees set forth in Chapter 8.62 RMC:

8.61.040 Charges for fire investigations.

There is hereby established a fee schedule for services provided by the department as a result of a response for fire investigation services, which includes, but is not limited to, scene safety, investigation, source identification, arson dog activation, identification equipment, and mobile identification equipment:

8.61.050 Charges for water responses.

There is hereby established a fee schedule for services provided by the department as a result of a response for water services:

8.61.060 Charges for chief responses.

There is hereby established a fee schedule for services provided by the department as a result of a response for fire chief services to any of the above services:

8.61.070 Billing.

Fees established under this chapter shall be solely filed with the insurance carrier of the responsible party requesting or requiring the response. The fee shall represent an added-on cost of the claim for damages of the vehicles, property and/or injury. If the foregoing information is not known, the individual or entity requesting or requiring the response shall provide the requisite insurance information to the department to allow for billing under this chapter.
