ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION

2.14.030 Economic Development Commission.
2.14.010 Purpose.
The Council, as the fiscal body of Vanderburgh County, Indiana finds it to be of benefit to the health and general welfare of the citizens of Vanderburgh County to finance economic development or pollution control facilities that will promote the creation or retention of opportunities for gainful employment; creating business opportunities; providing reliable water service; the abatement, reduction or prevention of pollution; or the removal or treatment of substances in materials being processed that otherwise would cause pollution; and the Council finds it necessary to finance economic development or pollution control facilities pursuant to the provisions of I.C. 36-7-12.

2.14.020 Establishment.
There is hereby established a Department of Economic Development to be controlled by a commission known as the Vanderburgh County Economic Development Commission in accordance with I.C. 36-7-12.

2.14.030 Economic Development Commission.
The commission shall consist of three (3) members which shall be appointed by the Board of Commissioners. One (1) shall be selected by the Board of Commissioners, one (1) shall be nominated by the Vanderburgh County Council and one (1) shall be nominated by the City Council, as the fiscal body of the most populous municipality located in the county.

2.14.040 Authority.
The commission shall charge a fee of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) for economic development bond issues of up to One Million Dollars and a fee of one tenth of one percent (0.10%) of the total amount of an economic development bond issue ranging in size from One Million Dollars ($1,000,000) to Ten Million Dollars ($10,000,000), said fee not to exceed Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000) per issue for a single project or Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000) per project in the case of program financing under the provisions of I.C. 36-7-12-18.5.
