AREA PLAN COMMISSION

2.52.020 Powers, functions and duties.
2.52.010 Establishment.
There is created the area plan commission of Evansville and Vanderburgh County with its term of existence and its powers, authorities, and duties beginning as of April 10, 1968. The board of county commissioners does hereby establish as a part of county government an area planning department to be known as the area plan commission of Evansville and Vanderburgh County, effective April 10, 1968.

2.52.020 Powers, functions and duties.
The area plan commission of Evansville and Vanderburgh County shall have the powers, functions, and duties and shall be constituted, as defined by IC 36-7-4-200 et seq.

2.52.030 Composition.
A. In accordance with I.C. 36-7-4-211, the City of Evansville and Vanderburgh County hereby modify the composition of the Area Plan Commission (APC) to include nine (9) members.
B. The number of representatives on the APC for the City shall be four (4), selected as follows:
1. Two (2) of whom shall be citizen members who are residents of the City, to be selected by the mayor.
2. One (1) of whom shall be a member of the board of public works of the City.
3. One (1) of whom shall be a member of the common council of the City, to be selected by the common council.
C. The number of representatives on APC for Vanderburgh County shall be four (4), selected as follows:
1. One (1) member appointed by the County Executive from its membership or a citizen member who is a resident of the County.
2. Two (2) citizen members who are residents of the County, appointed by the County Executive.
3. One (1) member appointed by the County Fiscal Body from its membership or a citizen member who is a resident of the County.
D. The duly elected Vanderburgh County Surveyor shall serve as the ninth and final member of the APC.

2.52.040 Term of office.
The terms of office of all of the representatives of Section 2.52.030 shall be in accordance with, in conformity to, and controlled by the terms of office as established under IC 36-7-4-217 and 36-7-4-218.
