BURDETTE PARK ADVISORY COMMITTEE

2.76.040 Election of officers.
2.76.010 Term.
The term of the Vanderburgh County Burdette Park Advisory Committee (“Advisory Committee”), composed of Citizen members as hereinafter provided, shall continue at the discretion of the Board of Commissioners of Vanderburgh County (hereinafter referred to as “County Commissioners”). 2.76.020 Purpose-Duties.
The purpose of the Advisory Committee is to continuously review and make recommendations to the County Commissioners or the Burdette Park manager regarding the operation and maintenance of Burdette Park. In addition, the Advisory Committee should recommend future Burdette Park capital improvements and Burdette Park programs and assist with fundraising activities relating to Burdette Park capital improvement projects so designated by the County Commissioners. 2.76.030 Organization.
A. The Burdette Park Advisory Committee shall consist of seven (7) citizen members and be composed of:
1. Five (5) citizen members appointed by the Board of Commissioners of Vanderburgh County;
2. One citizen member appointed by the members of the Vanderburgh County Council’s majority political party; and
3. One citizen member appointed by the members of the Vanderburgh County Council’s minority political party.
B. The Members of the Advisory Committee receive no compensation for their service and shall serve for a term of two (2) years or at the pleasure of their appointing authority. Upon the death, resignation or removal of any Advisory Committee member, the appointing authority who made such appointment shall appoint a replacement member to serve on the Advisory Committee. 2.76.040 Election of officers.
Members of the advisory committee, within thirty (30) days after the last appointment made and accepted herein, shall meet and elect one member as chairman, one member as vice-chairman and another member as secretary to record and maintain minutes and correspondence of the advisory committee. Elections for the various positions mentioned above shall be held annually. The terms of all the members shall continue at the discretion of the appointing authority, as long as the advisory committee continues in existence.

2.76.050 Meetings.
A. The Advisory Committee shall meet in the Meeting Room of the Commissioners at Burdette Park, or such other location provided by the Commissioners and at such time and with such frequency as the members of the Advisory Committee deem necessary to carry out the purposes set forth herein (“Called Meeting(s)”). B. Members of the Advisory Committee are expected to attend as many of the Called Meetings as possible. If any member of the Advisory Committee misses three (3) Called Meetings without being excused in any one calendar year, then, on the occurrence of the third unexcused Called Meeting missed by any member, the term of that member shall be deemed terminated and such member shall be replaced by a new member appointed by the same person or group of persons described in Section 2.76.030 that appointed the member whose term is deemed terminated.”

2.76.060 Expenses.
The advisory committee shall have no authority to contractually bind the county or to incur any expense or indebtedness, unless first specifically authorized and approved by the commissioners in the manner provided by law. Any proposed necessary expenses of the advisory committee shall be presented to the commissioners by the advisory committee for authorization.
