The figures so designating the number, whether painted or otherwise, shall be not less than two and one-half inches in length. [Ord. 120 § 1, 1969].
12.16.020 System for numbering buildings – Described.
The initial point for numbering of said buildings shall be at the corner of what are now known as First Street and Highway 99W in the city of Dundee, Oregon, and the system for such numbering shall be commonly known as the system of “100 numbers to the block,” but there shall be occupied by each number a space of at least 10 feet, and the unplaced numbers of any numerical of 100 in any one block shall be eliminated, so that when passing to the next block for numbering purposes, the beginning of the numerical for the next number 100 higher shall be taken up, and in so numbering said buildings, taking Highway 99W as the initial point and then going west or northwest, the numbers shall be placed on the buildings using the numbers from 100 to such number as may be necessary to give a number to each space of at least 10 feet on either side of the street in that particular block, and when passing to the second block the first number to be used in that block shall be 201 or above, using such of the higher numbers as shall be necessary for numbering this block, and then passing to the next block west or northwest where the first number to be used shall be 301 or above. For going east or southeast from Highway 99W the numbers shall be arranged in the same manner as when going west or northwest from that point as above stated. For numbering the streets running north and south, or northeast and southwest, the initial point shall be said First Street and in going north and south, or northeast and southwest, from said point the numbering shall be done in the same manner as above indicated for numbering the streets running east and west, or northwest and southeast. On all streets running east and west, or northwest and southeast, the even numbers shall be on the north or northeast side of the street and the odd numbers shall be on the south or southwest side of the street, and on streets running north and south, or northeast and southwest, the even numbers shall be on the west or northwest side and the odd numbers on the east or southeast side. [Ord. 120 § 2, 1969].
12.16.030 West and east prefixes.
For convenience in so designating the numbering of the buildings, all of that part of the streets running east and west, or northwest and southeast, which are west or northwest of Highway 99W shall hereafter have the word “west” as a prefix to the street name or number, and such streets shall be designated and known by their present names with the addition of said prefix “west.” All of that part of said streets which are east or southeast of Highway 99W shall hereafter have the word “east” as a prefix to the street name or number, and such streets shall be designated and known by their present names with the addition of said prefix “east.” [Ord. 120 § 3, 1969].
12.16.040 North and south prefixes.
All of that part of the streets running north and south, or northeast and southwest, which are north or northeast of First Street shall hereafter have the word “north” as a prefix to the street name or number, and such streets shall be designated and known by their present name with the addition of said prefix “north.” All of that part of said streets which are south or southwest of First Street shall hereafter have the word “south” as a prefix to the street name or number, and such streets shall be designated and known by their present names with the addition of said prefix “south.” [Ord. 120 § 4, 1969].
12.16.050 Assignment by city recorder.
