TRUCKS AND HEAVY EQUIPMENT

All truck and construction equipment traffic is prohibited from use of the following city streets, in the interest of community safety, the general health and welfare, with the exception of city maintenance equipment and/or maintenance equipment under specific contract to the city, Marion County, and/or the state:
A. Alder Street between Brook Street and Silver Street;
B. Brook Street between Wilson Street and James Street;
C. Chester Street between North Second Street and Mill Street;
D. Mill Street between B Street north to a line 255 feet south of the railroad spur crossing Mill Street;
E. Silver Street between Alder Street and James Street;
F. Third Street between Oak Street and East Main Street;
G. Whittier Street between North Second Street and Mill Street;
H. Wilson Street between the SP Railroad right-of-way and Brook Street;
I. James Avenue between Hobart Road and “C” Street;
J. Pine Street between Airport Road and Brown Street;
K. North Water Street between Grant Street and “C” Street;
L. Lincoln Street between Mill Street and Second Street;
M. Jefferson Street between Mill Street and Second Street;
N. Washington Street between Mill Street and Second Street;
O. Chester Street between Mill Street and Second Street;

10.20.020 Streets restricted – Exempt activities.
The prohibition announced in SMC 10.20.010 does not apply to vehicles used for the purpose of commercial delivery or picking up materials or merchandise or providing a service to residents within the above-described restricted streets. 10.20.025 Motortruck defined.
For the purposes of this section, a “motortruck” shall mean a motor vehicle that is primarily designed for use in carrying loads other than passengers and requiring registration by the Public Utility Commissioner of the state. (Ord. 89-115 § 2, 1989)
10.20.030 Emergency declared.
An emergency is hereby declared to exist and the ordinance codified in this chapter shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the council and signature by the mayor. (Ord. 94-133 § 2, 1994)
