STREET DAMAGE

No person or persons shall operate any vehicle upon or across any hard-surfaced streets within the corporate limits of the town, if such vehicle operates on metal cleats or tracks that would in any way damage or mark the surface of the streets, without furnishing adequate planking to protect the surface of such streets. 10.24.020 Columbia Avenue.
A. This section and the enforcement thereof is deemed expedient to maintain the surface and construction on Columbia Avenue between Tenth Street to the city limits where the same crosses Columbia Avenue.
B. It is unlawful for any person, firm, corporation, individual or otherwise to haul upon Columbia Avenue, between Tenth Street to the northwest city limits, wherein the same crosses Columbia Avenue, any load in excess of nine tons gross.
C. The city council is given power to lower the restriction of gross limit load upon Columbia Avenue between Tenth Street and the northwest city limits, wherein the same crosses Columbia Avenue, by resolution at such time as they deem said load restrictions necessary and for such periods of time as they deem necessary.
D. It is unlawful for any person, firm, corporation, individual or otherwise to go upon Columbia Avenue between Tenth Street and wherein the northwest city limits crosses Columbia Avenue with cleated tracks, from tires or any other mechanical device which would in any manner tend to destroy or distort the surface of Columbia Avenue between the streets designated in this section.
E. Any violation of any restriction hereinafter passed by the city council as provided for in this section and which is of public record shall be subject to the same penalties as any other violation of this section and as set forth in subsection (F) of this section.
F. Any persons, person, corporation or otherwise convicted of violating any of the provisions of this section shall be punished by a fine of not more than one-hundred dollars, or imprisonment for not more than thirty days, or by both fine and imprisonment. Every violation of this section shall be a separate offense. (Ord. 107 §§ 1-5, 1951)
