10.12.010 Sign posting authority.
The public works director or the chief of police or their designees are empowered to post signs prohibiting and regulating parking upon the streets of the city or other public property as they deem such signs are necessary subject to prior council approval. 10.12.020 Signs – Contents – Location.
Such “no parking” signs and other regulatory signs as posted under the direction of the public works director or the chief of police or their designees shall set forth the times, if any, that parking is prohibited on city streets and/or the location of the area where parking is prohibited. Such posted signs shall be posted in a location which shall be in open view to the public. [Ord. 2007-03 § 2, 2007; Ord. 436 § 2, 1976].
10.12.030 Violation – Penalty.
A. Parking of a motor vehicle in an area prohibited by “no parking” signs and street regulation signs posted in accordance with this chapter is an infraction and shall be punishable by a maximum fine of $100.00.
B. In the event that the penalty imposed for a parking infraction is not paid within 15 calendar days following the date of issuance thereof, an additional penalty of $40.00 shall be imposed. [Ord. 2010-16 § 1, 2010; Ord. 2007-03 § 2, 2007; Ord. 436 § 3, 1976].
10.12.040 Parking restriction – State Route 504.
It is unlawful for a motor vehicle to be parked, left standing or otherwise remain stationary by and along designated areas of State Route 504 as determined by the public works director if the vehicle has a vertical height greater than six feet as measured from the pavement and/or shoulder of said highway to the highest point of the motor vehicle. Violation of this section shall be subject to penalty as provided in CRMC 10.12.030. [Ord. 2007-03 § 2, 2007; Ord. 93-9 § 1, 1993].
10.12.050 Parking restriction – A Street SW (also known as State Route 411).
It is unlawful for a motor vehicle to be parked, left standing or otherwise remain stationary, by and along designated areas of A Street, also known as State Route 411, as determined by the public works director, if the vehicle has a vertical height greater than six feet as measured from the pavement and/or shoulder of such highway to the point of obstruction. Violation of this section shall be subject to a penalty as provided in CRMC 10.12.030. [Ord. 99-09 § 2, 1999].
