FIREARM DISCHARGE—RESTRICTED AREAS

7.66.020 Definitions.
The following definitions shall apply to the interpretation and enforcement of this chapter:
(1) “Firearm” means any weapon or device designed to expel a projectile or projectiles by an explosive such as gun powder, and as otherwise defined in Chapter 9.41 RCW, now and as may be hereafter amended. The term “firearm” shall include but not be limited to gun, rifle, pistol, shotgun, short-barreled rifle, short-barreled shotgun, machine gun, and antique firearm. The term “firearm” shall not include tools used in the construction or building trade when used for such purpose. The term “firearm” shall not include equipment used by agriculture to protect crops when used for such purpose.
(2) “Person” means an individual, firm, partnership, corporation or association. (Res. 2017-67 (part), 7/25/17).
7.66.030 Discharge of firearms prohibited.
No person shall discharge any firearm in the area between the county’s boundary line at the midline of the Columbia River to the eastern boundary of the city of Wenatchee, and from the Odabashian Bridge (US 2/97) on the north to the George Sellar Bridge (SR 285) on the south. 7.66.050 Exceptions to prohibition.
The prohibitions contained in this chapter shall not apply to the following persons and circumstances:
(1) Any person acting in lawful self-defense or lawful defense of others;
(2) Law enforcement, National Guard or United States military personnel while engaged in performance of duties. (Res. 2017-67 (part), 7/25/17).
7.66.100 Violation—Penalty.
A violation of this chapter shall be punishable as a gross misdemeanor. (Res. 2017-67 (part), 7/25/17).
7.66.110 Severability.
If any provision of this chapter or its application to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of this chapter or the application of the provisions to other persons or circumstances shall not be affected. (Res. 2017-67 (part), 7/25/17).
