5.60.050 False alarm fee waiver—Application—Determination.
The sheriff may waive payment of a false alarm penalty imposed under this chapter if the person against whom the penalty is assessed acknowledges that the alarm was false and documents the condition or defect which caused the false alarm and that such condition or defect has been corrected. Application for payment waiver shall be filed in writing with the sheriff within ten (10) days of receipt of the notice of imposition of the fee. Correction shall be completed within a reasonable time as determined by the sheriff. Waiver of payment shall not be deemed to waive any other finding or administrative sanction.
The sheriff’s determination as to waiver of payment and a reasonable time for correction shall be issued in writing and may be appealed within ten (10) days of its receipt as set forth in this chapter. (Sec. 6 of Ord. 1994-11-42; amended by Sec. 6 of Ord. 2004-01-03)
