5.60.060 Civil citation/civil penalty.
The sheriff, alarm administrator, or his or her designate is authorized to issue a civil citation assessing a civil penalty or ordering the disconnection of an alarm or suspension of alarm response. The civil citation shall include the following:
(1) The name and address of the person or persons to whom the citation is directed;
(2) The street address of the alarm site at which the alarm is being maintained without the required alarm registration;
(3) A concise statement describing the nature of the violation;
(4) A specification of the penalty or sanction being imposed; and
(5) A statement that the determination of violation, penalty or sanction must be appealed to District Court within ten (10) days of service of the notice or the determination shall be deemed final and appeal rights deemed waived. Citations shall be served either personally or by mailing a copy of such notice postage prepaid. Service by mail shall be deemed effective upon the third day following the day the notice is deposited in the mail. Any penalty or sanction imposed shall not be effective until the ten (10) days following the service of the citation. (Sec. 7 of Ord. 1994-11-42; amended by Sec. 7 of Ord. 2004-01-03)
