KEEPING AND CONTROL OF ANIMALS

10.54.010 Keeping animals.
It is unlawful to keep or maintain any livestock, horses, mules, cattle, sheep, goats, rabbits, pigs, ducks or geese within the corporate limits of the city. [Ord. 1569 § 1, 2016; Ord. 1564 § 1, 2016; Ord. 962 § 2, 1984.]
10.54.015 Household pets.
The following requirements shall apply to the raising and keeping of all household pets:
(1) The maximum number of household pets permitted to be kept in conjunction with each permitted dwelling is as follows: not more than an accumulative total of three dogs and/or cats exclusive of animals under the age of four months, except in accordance with CMC 6.04.170.
(2) Keeping of household pets for the principal purpose of sale and profit is prohibited.
(3) All household pets shall be kept in such a manner so as not to create any objectional noise or odor or otherwise cause to annoy or become a public nuisance to health, safety or general welfare of any person.
(4) The keeping of household pets shall be further subject to all applicable provisions of this code. [Ord. 1061 § 1, 1989.]
10.54.020 Animal enclosures.
The erection, construction or maintenance of any barn, building, hutch and/or the erection or construction and maintenance of any enclosure designed or intended for the keeping of any animal or fowl prohibited in CMC 10.54.010 is expressly prohibited. 10.54.030 Animals at large prohibited.
It is unlawful to allow, permit or fail to prevent any animal as set forth in CMC 10.54.010 to run at or be at large within the corporate limits of the city. [Ord. 1569 § 1, 2016; Ord. 962 § 2, 1984.]
10.54.040 Exceptions.
Repealed by Ord. 1569. [Ord. 962 § 2, 1984.]
