COUNCIL MEETINGS

2.04.010 Regular sessions.
The council of the city of Colville shall meet in regular session at the City Hall on the second and fourth Tuesday evening of each month at 6:00 p.m. (Ord. 1664 NS § 1, 2020; Ord. 1588 NS § 1, 2017; Ord. 1583 NS § 1, 2017; Ord. 1043 NS § 1, 1992; Ord. 1015 NS § 1, 1989; Ord. 891 NS § 1, 1983; Ord. 875 NS § 1, 1982; prior code § 1.04.010).
2.04.020 Special meetings.
Special meetings may be called at any time by the mayor by written notice delivered to each member by the chief of police at least three hours before the time specified for the proposed meeting; provided, that no ordinance shall be passed, or contract let or entered into, or bill for the payment of money allowed at such special meeting, or at any adjourned regular or special meeting. (Prior code § 1.04.020).
2.04.030 Quorum and presiding officer.
At any meeting of the city council a majority of the councilmen shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business, but a lesser number may adjourn from time to time and may compel the attendance of absent members by requiring the chief of police to bring them to the place of meeting, and the council may impose such fines upon the members for failing or refusing to attend such meetings as may be determined upon by the council by ordinance or resolution. The mayor shall preside at all meetings of the council, and, in case of his absence, the council may appoint a mayor pro tem, and, in case of the absence of the clerk, the mayor or mayor pro tem shall appoint one of the members of the city council as clerk pro tem, but the appointment of a councilman as mayor pro tem, or as clerk pro tem, shall not in any way abridge his right to vote upon all questions coming before the council.
