1.08.010 Council positions established and numbered.
(a) Each position on the city council shall have a number and each councilman presently serving or to be elected in the future shall occupy or be elected to one of the numbered council positions.
(b) The elective positions on the city council shall be numbered and established as follows:
(1) Council position subject to election in 1969 from the former Number One Ward (North) is established as Council Position Number One;
(2) Council position subject to election in 1969 from the former Number Two Ward (East) is established as Council Position Number Two;
(3) Council position subject to election in 1969 from the former Number Three Ward (West) is established as Council Position Number Three;
(4) Council position subject to election in 1971 from the former Number One Ward (North) is established as Council Position Number Four;
(5) Council position subject to election in 1971 from the former Number Two Ward (East) is established as Council Position Number Five;
(6) Council position subject to election in 1971 from the former Number Three Ward (West) is established as Council Position Number Six;
(7) The city council position formerly delineated councilman at large is established as Council Position Number Seven. (Ord. 387 § 2, 1969).
1.08.020 Election – Filing procedure.
From the effective date of the ordinance codified herein, all filings for the city council shall be made with the Lincoln County auditor according to the council position numbers established in DMC 1.08.010 and subject to election to the same in the manner provided by the election laws of the state. (Ord. 832 § 1, 1998; Ord. 830 § 2, 1998; Ord. 387 § 3, 1969).
