4.36.010 Membership – Residency requirements.
The library board shall consist of five members. Two members of the board need not be residents of the city. [Ord. 983 § 23, 1992: Ord. 768 § 1, 1988: Ord. 763 § 3, 1988: Ord. 428 § 1(b), 1978.]
4.36.020 Term of office.
Two members shall be appointed for one year, two members shall be appointed for two years, and one member shall be appointed for three years. Thereafter, members shall be appointed to serve three-year terms, except for those filling unexpired terms. [Ord. 428 § 1(a), 1978.]
4.36.030 Organization, meetings, and duties.
The members shall organize by the election of officers and set meetings as they deem necessary. They shall:
(1) Advise the city council and the King County library system regarding planning, promotion, construction, and development of public library facilities and programs;
(2) Make recommendations which they deem advisable for the development of future library resources; and
(3) Perform such other services and studies as may be requested by the city council or as may be consistent with this chapter. [Ord. 428 § 1(c), 1978.]
