2.110.010 Created—Purpose.

An advisory board is formed which board shall be entitled the Everett sister cities advisory board. The board shall assist the mayor and city council by making recommendations to the mayor and city council on sister city related issues. (Ord. 1562-89 § 1, 1989)

2.110.020 Members and terms.

The Everett sister cities advisory board shall consist of seven members plus two alternate members who shall attend board meetings in the absence of regular members. The members shall be appointed and removed by the mayor with the approval of city council. The terms of the members shall be in accordance with Section 5.2 of the city charter. (Ord. 1562-89 § 2, 1989)

2.110.030 Duties.

The responsibilities of the Everett sister cities advisory board shall include those responsibilities necessary to carry out the purpose of the board as set forth in Section 2.110.010 which shall include but not be limited to the following:

A.    Providing the mayor and city council with recommendations and information concerning the sister cities program as well as other matters of interest which are related to this program;

B.    Initiating, planning, sponsoring, organizing and promoting cultural exchanges; and

C.    Providing support for international economic development programs which the city supports and acting as the city’s official hosts for international guests. (Ord. 1562-89 § 3, 1989)
