FIREMEN’S RELIEF AND PENSION ACT

2.38.010 Enrollment – Fee.
Any member of its fire department is hereby permitted to enroll under the provisions of Chapter 41.24 RCW, otherwise known as the Volunteer Firefighter’s Relief and Pension Act, for the purpose of enabling any such firefighter, so electing, to avail himself/herself of the retirement provisions of Chapter 41.24 RCW; provided, however, that anyone so enrolling under the pension provisions shall pay a yearly fee each year prior to March 1st, in an amount prescribed by Chapter 41.24 RCW and any subsequent amendments thereto, and in the event such firefighter does not so contribute that portion of the fee, he/she shall be dropped from the rolls, all as provided by statute, with the privilege of being reinstated as is provided by statute. 2.38.020 Payment of premiums.
The city shall pay the city’s share of the annual retirement premium plan provided by Chapter 41.24 RCW, and shall submit a list of all firefighters and the birthdates and social security numbers of each to the State Board for Volunteer Firefighters, together with the total annual pension premium and the additional disability fee in an amount as prescribed by Chapter 41.24 RCW and any subsequent amendments thereto on each firefighter reported.
