2.40.010 Election to participate in statewide system.
The city of Fircrest has elected and does hereby elect to participate as a member of the statewide city employees’ retirement system for pension, disability and retirement for the employees of the city, as provided by Chapter 41.44 RCW. All employees and officers of said city shall be included in said system; provided, that no elected official shall be included, unless said official so elects and files a written notice of such election with the board of trustees of said pension system, and with the clerk-treasurer. 2.40.020 Number of members included in system.
The number of employees and officials, other than elective officials, who shall be included as members of said pension system is approximately 12. (Ord. 304 § 2, 1956).
2.40.030 Basis for prior service credit.
The basis for prior credit service shall be 100 percent of final compensation, known as “full par service credit.” (Ord. 304 § 4, 1956).
2.40.040 Basis for social security coverage.
The basis for social security coverage will be coordination. (Ord. 304 § 5, 1956).
2.40.050 Basis of contribution.
The basis of contribution shall be full compensation. (Ord. 418, 1961; Ord. 304 § 6, 1956).
2.40.060 Transmitting copy to state.
A certified copy of this chapter shall be transmitted to the board of trustees of said statewide system as evidence of an election of the city of Fircrest to join such pension system. (Ord. 304 § 3, 1956).
2.40.070 Social security – Election to participate.
The city of Fircrest will participate in the old age and survivor’s insurance program of the United States, and hereby authorizes the benefits of federal old age and survivor’s insurance to be extended to all of the eligible officials and employees of the city. (Ord. 184 § 1, 1951).
2.40.080 Social security – Authority to execute contract.
The mayor and clerk-treasurer are authorized and directed to make application for such participation through the State Employment Security Department, and to execute on behalf of the city such contracts or other documents and to take such other steps as may be necessary to effectuate such participation as required by the laws of the United States or the state of Washington, or by the rules and regulations of any administrative agency of either having jurisdiction in the matter. (Ord. 184 § 2, 1951).
2.40.090 Social security – Authority to make payroll deductions, returns, reports, etc.
The proper city officials are authorized and directed, after the effective date of coverage, to make proper payroll deductions from the earnings of all covered officials or employees, to make proper returns, reports and remittances to the state of Washington, and to make such changes in the payroll accounting system of the city as may have been made necessary by the passage of this chapter. (Ord. 184 § 3, 1951).
2.40.100 Social security – Records and reports to be kept and inspected.
The proper city officials are authorized to render such reports and to furnish such information and submit to such inspection of the city records in connection with the matters covered by this chapter as may be required or requested by the state of Washington or by the United States. (Ord. 184 § 4, 1951).
