9.80.010 Domestic violence – State law adopted.
The Washington Domestic Violence Official Response Act, Chapter 10.99 RCW, and any amendments thereto, is by this reference adopted as the domestic violence law of the city; except, that GMC 9.80.020, Domestic violence – Offenses enumerated, shall be in addition to those provided in RCW 10.99.020. 9.80.020 Domestic violence – Offenses enumerated.
“Domestic violence” includes, but is not limited to, any of the following crimes when committed by one family or household member against another:
A. Assault (GMC 9.12.010);
B. Injury to property (GMC 9.24.100);
C. Civil trespass (GMC 9.24.130);
D. Malicious harassment (GMC 9.12.050);
E. Harassment (GMC 9.38.010);
F. Coercion (GMC 9.12.020);
G. Reckless endangerment (GMC 9.12.030);
H. Custodial interference (RCW 9A.40.050);
I. Criminal mischief (GMC 9.24.080);
J. Vehicle prowling (GMC 9.24.160);
K. Theft (GMC 9.24.010);
L. Interfering with the reporting of domestic violence (GMC 9.80.030);
M. Cyberstalking (GMC 9.82.010). (Ord. 2007-18 § 2).
9.80.030 Interfering with the reporting of domestic violence.
A. A person commits the crime of interfering with the reporting of domestic violence if the person:
1. Commits the crime of domestic violence as defined in GMC 9.80.020; and
2. Prevents or attempts to prevent the victim of or a witness to that domestic violence crime from calling a 911 emergency communication system, obtaining medical assistance, or making a report to any law enforcement official.
B. Commission of a crime of domestic violence under subsection (A) of this section is a necessary element of the crime of interfering with the reporting of domestic violence.
C. Interference with the reporting of domestic violence is a gross misdemeanor. (Ord. 2007-18 § 2).
9.80.040 Domestic violence protection orders – Adopted.
RCW 26.50.110 including penalties and any amendments thereto is hereby adopted in its entirety. (Ord. 2010-25 § 1).
