10.16.010 Permit required.
No person, firm or corporation shall move any traction engine, tractor, road roller, or motor truck or motor bus or other vehicle, the weight of which is 6,000 pounds or over, upon or through any street or streets of the city without first having obtained a permit therefor as provided in this chapter. (Ord. 2007-10 § 2).
10.16.020 Issuance of permit – Route – Bond.
The public works director or his designee with the approval of the chief of police shall, upon application, issue to any person, firm or corporation a permit to move a traction engine, tractor, road roller, motor truck or motor bus, or other vehicle, the weight of which is 6,000 pounds or over, upon or through any street or streets of the city or a crosswalk within said city; provided, however, that the route over which it is proposed to move such vehicle shall be prescribed by said public works director and fully set forth in said permit; and provided further, that said route set forth by the public works director shall, if the proposed use of said street be of such nature as to injure, destroy or increase the maintenance thereof, as a condition precedent to the granting of the permit, require the execution and delivery to the city of a good and sufficient bond in an amount fixed by the public works director, to save and protect the city harmless from all damages to the streets, bridges, curbs, sidewalks, or pavements of the city arising out of the moving of said vehicle, motor bus, motor truck, traction engine, tractor or road roller. 10.16.030 Liability for damages.
Any person, firm or corporation who moves any traction engine, tractor, road roller, motor truck or motor bus, whose weight is 6,000 pounds or over, upon or through any street or streets, or across any bridges or crosswalks of the city shall be liable for and shall pay to the city the cost of repair for any damage to such street or streets, bridges, curbs, crosswalks, or pavements over which he shall have moved such vehicle. 10.16.040 Violation – Penalty.
Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine of not to exceed $1,000 or by imprisonment for not to exceed 90 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. (Ord. 2007-10 § 2).
