SIDEWALK MAINTENANCE

12.04.010 Owner obligation.
The owner and/or occupant of property lying contiguous to any public sidewalk in the city shall have the obligation and the duty to maintain the sidewalk, which includes the removal of snow and ice, and to keep the same in repair when damage to the sidewalk is caused by the action or actions of the property owner, their agents, guests, invitees or licensees. (Ord. 1667 § 1, 2004; Ord. 1383 § 1, 1994; 1964 code § 9.06.010).
12.04.020 City held harmless.
The owner of property lying contiguous to public sidewalks in the city shall save the city harmless from any liability to any person as a result of the owner’s failure to repair or maintain the sidewalk as such duty is described in GMC 12.04.010. (Ord. 1383 § 2, 1994; 1964 code § 9.06.020).
