10.20.010 Use of coasters, roller skates and similar devices restricted.

No person upon roller skates, skateboards or riding in or by means of any coaster, toy vehicle or similar device, shall go upon any roadway except while crossing a street in a crosswalk and when so crossing, such person shall be granted all of the rights and shall be subject to all of the duties applicable to pedestrians. This section shall not apply upon any street during the period such street is set aside for a lawful parade or similar function. (Ord. 3045 § 3(B), 1986)

10.20.020 Placing merchandise for sale on streets and sidewalks.

It is unlawful for any person to store or display any goods, wares or merchandise, or any other article or thing for purposes of sale or otherwise on any street, right-of-way, alley or sidewalk, or in the space between the sidewalk and street curbs in the city; provided, however, this section shall not be construed to prevent the holding of a merchandise fair upon the streets and sidewalks of the city with the time, place exhibitors and exhibits to be fixed by the chief of police or his designate. 10.20.030 Bridges—City council findings.

The city council declares that the use of the several bridges, which are a part of the public street system of the city, for purposes other than such as are intended for the traveling public, constitutes a dangerous and hazardous condition both for such users and the traveling public. 10.20.040 Bridges—Act constituting unlawful use.

It is unlawful for any person to utilize any of the bridges in the city which constitute a part of the street system of the city in one or more of the following ways:

A. To climb upon the structural portions of such bridge either above or below street level;

B. To dive, jump or drop or cause or aid another to dive, jump or drop from such bridge or portion thereof;

C. To fish from such bridge or any portion thereof; provided, this subsection shall not apply to the Allen Street Bridge;

D. To throw or drop any object from such bridge or any portion thereof. (Prior code § 12.40.100)

10.20.050 Bridges—Violation—Penalty.

Any person violating the provisions of Sections 10.20.030 and 10.30.040 of this chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished as provided in Chapter 1.40 of this code, as it now exists or is hereafter amended. (Prior code § 12.40.110)

10.20.060 Railroad trains blocking streets.

It is unlawful for the directing officer or the operator of any railroad train to direct the operation of or to operate the same in such a manner as to prevent the use of any street or highway within the city limits for purposes of travel for a period of time longer than five minutes, except that this provision shall not apply to trains or cars in motion other than those engaged in switching. 10.20.070 Railroad crossings—Obstruction unlawful.

It shall be unlawful to block any railroad crossing where the railroad tracks cross any street in the city with any locomotive, car or train for a longer period than five consecutive minutes. The conductor, engineer or other person in charge of any such engine, car or train blocking any such crossing in violation of this chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor, and on conviction thereof, shall be punished in accordance with other misdemeanors committed in the city.
