CITY ATTORNEY

2.12.050 Assistants to city attorney.
2.12.010 Appointment.
The office of city attorney shall be appointed, and the appointments shall be made by the mayor of the city, subject to confirmation by a majority vote of the council. (Ord. 353 § 1, 1985).
2.12.020 Term.
The city attorney, after confirmation, shall serve for an indefinite period at the pleasure of the mayor. (Ord. 353 § 2, 1985).
2.12.030 Duties.
The city attorney shall perform such duties as may be requested or required from time to time by the mayor or majority of the city council. (Ord. 353 § 3, 1985).
2.12.040 Payment.
At the option of the city council, the city attorney shall be paid a salary as negotiated between the city council and the city attorney, or the city attorney may be paid on an hourly rate basis for work actually performed, or the city attorney may be compensated under such other terms or conditions as may be negotiated between the city council and the city attorney. The compensation of the city attorney shall be reviewed on an annual basis by the city council. (Ord. 353 § 4, 1985).
2.12.050 Assistants to city attorney.
With the approval of the mayor or a majority of the city council, members of the city attorney's law firm, if any, may assist the city attorney in providing legal services to the city. (Ord. 353 § 5, 1985).
