Chapter 2.32
ELECTRONIC SIGNATURES

Sections:

2.32.010    Electronic signature use.

2.32.010 Electronic signature use.

(1) The Board of Sewer Commissions finds it to be in the public interest to allow the use of electronic records and electronic signatures for District business to the fullest extent allowed by law.

(2) The Board of Sewer Commissions recognizes that in many situations the act of a written, affixed by hand, or “wet” signature created when a person physically marks a document with the intent to sign the record could be replaced with an electronic signature, which would have the same force and effect, except as required by law.

(3) The Board of Sewer Commissions authorizes the Commissioners, General Manager, Assistant General Manager, and other designees, to use the Adobe Acrobat electronic signature platform or any future replacement of such platform, either of which are in compliance with the standards adopted by the District, to affix electronic signatures to electronic records including resolutions.

(4) The Board of Sewer Commissioners directs the General Manager to adopt any necessary administrative policies or processes to implement the use of electronic signatures by the District and prescribe when and how such signatures will be allowed consistent with this section and in compliance with the provisions of Chapter 1.80 RCW (“Uniform Electronic Transactions Act”).
