Enforcement and Violations

17.72.010 Enforcement.
It shall be the duty of the building official, or his or her designee, to see that this title is enforced through the proper legal channels, including, in addition to the imposition of criminal penalties provided for in. this chapter, any appropriate action or proceeding to require compliance with, or to enjoin violation of, the provisions of this title. 17.72.020 Applications for building permits.
All applications for building permits shall be accompanied by a plat in duplicate, drawn to scale, showing the actual dimensions of the lot to be built upon, the size, use and location of existing buildings and buildings to be erected, and such other information as may be necessary to provide for the enforcement of this title. A careful record of such applications and plats shall be kept in the office of the building inspector. (Ord. 1366 (part), 1995).
17.72.030 Violations.
It is unlawful in any way to violate this title or for any person to use or occupy any portion of any premises, any part of which has been constructed, equipped, or is used in violation of the provisions of this title, until such unlawful use has ceased and such lawful construction or equipment has been removed, or in any way to violate any provision of this title. Any premises which have been constructed, equipped or used in violation of this title shall be posted by the building inspector with a sign directing the vacation of the entire premises within ten days from the date noted thereon. Any person removing or defacing such sign without the permission of the proper authority is guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be subject to the penalties provided for in this chapter. 17.72.040 Penalties.
Any person, firm or corporation who violates, disobeys, omits, neglects or refuses to comply with or who unlawfully resists the enforcement of any of the provisions of this title shall be subject to such penalties as may be established in Chapter 1.08 of this code.
