10.08.010 Classification and definitions generally.
The streets of the city shall be classified and designated as provided in this chapter. (Ord. 192 § 2, 1967).
10.08.020 Access streets.
“Access streets” mean local service streets and generally are limited to providing access to abutting property. They are tributary to the major and secondary arterials and generally discourage through traffic. (Ord. 192 § 2.3, 1967).
10.08.030 Arterials, major.
“Major arterials” mean transportation arteries which connect the focal points of traffic interest within a city; arteries which provide communications with other communities and the outlying areas; or arteries which have relatively high traffic volume compared with other streets within the city. (Ord. 192 § 2.1, 1967).
10.08.040 Arterials, secondary.
“Secondary arterials” mean routes which serve lesser points of traffic interest within the city; provide communications with outlying districts in the same degree or serve to collect and distribute traffic from the major arterials to the local streets. (Ord. 192 § 2.2, 1967).
10.08.050 Private lanes.
“Private lanes” means privately owned and privately maintained ways serving at least two and not more than four lots, and over which rights of passage are provided and defined by a permanent easement approved by the city. (Ord. 700 § 1, 2003; Ord. 192 § 2.4, 1967).
10.08.060 Roadside skirt.
“Roadside skirt” means that backfill or other gravel improved portion of the roadway adjoining the curb or thickened edge. (Ord. 192 § 2.5, 1967).
