10.12.010 Major arterials – Dimensions.
Major arterials shall have a minimum right-of-way of 80 feet with an improved driving surface of 44 feet. (Ord. 955 § 1 (Exh. 1), 2017; Ord. 192 § 3.1.1, 1967).
10.12.020 Secondary arterials – Dimensions.
Secondary arterials shall have a minimum right-of-way of 60 feet with an improved driving surface of 20 feet. (Ord. 955 § 1 (Exh. 1), 2017; Ord. 192 § 3.1.2, 1967).
10.12.030 Access streets – Dimensions.
Access streets shall have a minimum right-of-way of 44 feet with an improved driving surface of 20 feet. The pavement and right-of-way width depend upon the street classification. The table of minimum street design standards shows the minimum widths allowed. Upon a determination by the city engineer and approval by the city council, standards in the Low Impact Development Technical Guidance Manual for Puget Sound (Puget Sound Action Team Publication No. PSAT 05-03 as it now exists or is hereafter amended) may be substituted. 10.12.040 Private lane – Dimensions.
Private lanes shall have a minimum width of 20 feet with an improved driving surface of 18 feet. The pavement and right-of-way width depend upon the street classification. The table of minimum street design standards shows the minimum widths allowed. Upon a determination by the city engineer and approval by the city council, standards in the Low Impact Development Technical Guidance Manual for Puget Sound (Puget Sound Action Team Publication No. PSAT 05-03 as it now exists or is hereafter amended) may be substituted. 10.12.050 Curb and gutter construction.
Curb and gutter construction may be used for arterials and access streets, shall provide a minimum surfaced width of 26 feet between gutter faces, and shall meet all dimensions and specification requirements for this type of street as shown in the diagram on file in the office of the city clerk. (Ord. 955 § 1 (Exh. 1), 2017; Ord. 192 § 3.2, 1967).
10.12.060 Thickened edge pavement construction.
Thickened edge pavement construction may be used for arterials and access streets, shall provide a minimum surfaced width of 26 feet, and shall meet all dimensions and specification requirements for this type of street as shown in the diagram on file in the office of the city clerk. (Ord. 955 § 1 (Exh. 1), 2017; Ord. 192 § 3.3, 1967).
10.12.070 Surfaced road with roadside ditch construction.
Surfaced road with roadside ditch construction may be used only on existing arterials and access streets, shall provide a minimum surfaced width of 20 feet and shall meet all the dimensions and specification requirements for this type of street as shown in the diagram on file in the office of the city clerk. (Ord. 955 § 1 (Exh. 1), 2017; Ord. 192 § 3.4, 1967).
10.12.080 Private lane construction.
Private lane construction shall be used only on ways designated private lanes in accordance with this title, shall provide a minimum surfaced width of 18 feet and shall meet all dimensions and specification requirements for this type of way as shown in the diagram on file in the office of the city clerk. 10.12.090 Pavement materials.
Where site and soil conditions make permeable surfacing feasible, streets and sidewalks may be surfaced with a material appropriate for the soil type, use and associated vehicular traffic. Permeable surfacing and other LID techniques shall be designed and constructed in accordance with the LID details in the Low Impact Development Technical Guidance Manual for Puget Sound (Puget Sound Action Team Publication No. PSAT 05-03 as it now exists or is hereafter amended).
