ENTERING ARTERIALS

10.08.010 Classification of streets.
Pursuant to the provisions of RCW 35.78.010, the city streets of the city are designated and classified as set out through OMC 10.08.040. (Ord. 395 § 1, 1970)
10.08.020 Major arterials.
Major arterials in the city are:
A. All state highways within the city, including the route of State Highway 16, now known as State Highway 20;
B. Second Avenue from the northerly city limits to the southerly city limits. (Ord. 395 § 1(A), 1970)
10.08.030 Secondary arterials.
Secondary arterials in the city are:
A. Oak Street from the easterly city limits to its intersection with Second Avenue;
B. Pine Street from its intersection with Second Avenue to its intersection with Fifth Avenue;
C. Fifth Avenue from its intersection with Pine Street to its intersection with Oak Street;
D. Oak Street from its intersection with Fifth Avenue North to its intersection with Sixth Avenue North;
E. Sixth Avenue North from its intersection with Oak Street to its intersection with Orchard Grade (city limits);
F. Fifth Avenue South from its intersection with Pine Street to its intersection with Second Avenue;
G. Tyee Street from its intersection with Second Avenue to its intersection with Fifth Avenue;
H. Mill Street from its intersection with Fifth Avenue to the westerly city limits;
I. First Avenue from its intersection with Oak Street to its intersection with the approach to the state highway bridge;
J. First Avenue North from its intersection with Oak Street southerly through First Avenue South to its intersection with the Washington state highway route extending between Second Avenue South and the Okanogan River Bridge. (Ord. 425 § 1, 1972; Ord. 395 § 1(B), 1970)
10.08.040 Access streets.
Access streets are all other streets in the city than those named in OMC 10.08.020 and 10.08.030. (Ord. 395 § 1 (C), 1970)
10.08.050 Entering arterials.
A. It is unlawful for any person to drive any vehicle into any major or secondary arterial street from any other public highway or private way without coming to a complete stop before entering such arterial street when stop signs are erected as provided by law.
B. Any person violating this section shall upon conviction thereof be punished by a fine of not to exceed $300.00 or by imprisonment in the city jail for not to exceed 90 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. (Ord. 395 §§ 2, 3, 1970)
