18.15.010 Intent.

The intent of the rural residential district is to provide for an appropriately classified area for the development of single-family residences on lots larger than 20,000 square feet, preserving the agricultural or rural character of the city’s fringe. (Ord. 805 § 1, 1995)

18.15.020 Uses allowed outright.

In the R-R district, the following uses and their accessory uses and structures are allowed outright:

A. Single-family dwellings;

B. Residential planned unit developments;

C. Home occupations as permitted by Chapter 18.68 OMC;

D. Individual lot manufactured homes. (Ord. 1126 § 2, 2012; Ord. 885 § 3, 1999; Ord. 805 § 1, 1995)

18.15.030 Uses allowed by conditional use permit.

In the R-R district, the following uses and their accessory structures and uses are allowed by conditional use permit issued in accordance with Chapter 18.92 OMC:

A. Repealed by Ord. 885;

B. Parks and playgrounds;

C. Public installations need to serve residential areas. (Ord. 885 § 3, 1999; Ord. 805 § 1, 1995)

18.15.040 General standards.

Chapters 18.56 through 18.84 OMC, inclusive, list general standards that apply to uses and structures within this district. (Ord. 805 § 1, 1995)

18.15.050 Exceptions.

Residential planned unit developments are to be detached single-family only. No multifamily dwellings are allowed in the R-R district. (Ord. 805 § 1, 1995)
