TRUCK ROUTES

10.20.010 Definitions.
“Truck,” “truck tractor” and “trailer” as used in this chapter are defined as follows:
A. “Gross weight” means the scale weight of the motor truck or truck tractor, plus the scale weight of any trailer, semitrailer, or pole trailer to be towed thereby, but the load which it is carrying or towing shall not be computed as a part of the gross weight.
B. “Truck” means any motor vehicle designed and used primarily for transportation of property, excluding a truck of less than twelve thousand pounds gross weight.
C. “Truck tractor” means any motor truck designed and used primarily for drawing a semitrailer and not constructed to carry a load thereon other than a part of the weight of such semitrailer and load so drawn. (Ord. 964 § 3, 1975).
10.20.020 Designated.
The following city streets are designated as truck routes:
A. State Highway 12 from the Yakima River to Wing Road;
B. Sheridan Avenue from 3rd Street to State Highway 12;
C. Stacy Avenue from 6th Street to State Highway 12;
D. Bennet Avenue from 8th Street to State Highway 22;
E. Dudley Avenue from Meade Avenue to Bennett Avenue;
F. 5th Street from Meade Avenue to Bennett Avenue;
G. Meade Avenue from 5th Street to Dudley Avenue;
H. Meade Avenue from 7th Street to 8th Street;
I. 6th Street from the Yakima River to Bennett Avenue;
J. 7th Street from Grant Avenue to Meade Avenue;
K. 8th Street from Bennett Avenue to Meade Avenue;
L. Junction of State Highway 22 and State Highway 221 to State Highway 12 via Wing Road;
M. The South River Road to the west end of Stacy Avenue;
N. Grant Avenue from State Highway to Seventh Street;
O. 3rd Street from Sheridan Avenue to South River Road. (Ord. 964 § 1, 1975).
10.20.030 Conformance required.
It is unlawful to drive or operate any truck or truck tractor upon any city street within the city except the streets designated as truck routes in Section 10.20.020. (Ord. 964 § 2, 1975).
10.20.040 Penalty for violation.
Any violation of this chapter shall constitute a traffic infraction, with monetary penalties as such, as provided in Chapter 46.63 of the Revised Code of Washington, and as the same may be hereafter amended or revised. (Ord. 1281 § 1, 1984: Ord. 964 § 4, 1975).
