10.04.010 Adopted by reference.
Pursuant to RCW 36.32.120(7), the Washington Model Traffic Ordinance, as authorized under Chapter 46.90 RCW, is adopted by reference as it now exists as Chapter 308-330 WAC or as amended hereafter as the traffic ordinance of the County with the same effect as if fully set forth in this section, except as provided in SJCC 10.04.020. 10.04.040 Violation – Penalty.
Any violation of this chapter shall be a class 1 civil infraction unless specified otherwise. Unless another penalty is expressly provided by law, any person who is convicted of violating or failing to comply with any of the provisions of this chapter, including failure to obey duly posted traffic control devices, shall be subject to penalties allowed under Chapter 7.80 RCW for each violation thereof. Each new day shall be considered a new violation. (Ord. 06-2024 § 3; Res. 39-1976. Formerly 10.20.040)
10.04.050 Disposition of fines and forfeitures.

10.04.060 Additional authority of the traffic engineer.
In addition to the traffic engineer’s authority under the Washington Model Traffic Ordinance, the traffic engineer may:
A. Determine where angle parking shall be permitted on highways;
B. Prohibit, regulate, or limit stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles on any County highway, road, rights-of-way, or County-owned parking lots; and
C. Determine fines for violations of duly posted traffic control devices under this section in accordance with penalty amounts allowed under Chapter 7.80 RCW.
Any determination, prohibition, regulation, or limitation authorized under this section is enforceable only if duly posted and indicated by an official traffic control device that includes the applicable fine for violations. (Ord. 06-2024 § 4)
