PROSECUTING ATTORNEY

2.04.010 Office hours—Salary.

The office of the prosecuting attorney shall be open for business from eight-thirty a.m. to five p.m. Monday through Friday for both civil and criminal matters. The salary for the prosecuting attorney shall be set for the prosecuting attorney as a part-time salary, provided that if the prosecuting attorney agrees in writing not to practice law privately while serving as prosecuting attorney, the county may set a full-time salary. 2.04.020 Acting as county coroner—No additional salary.

There shall be no additional salary for the prosecuting attorney for performing the functions of county coroner. (Res. 1973-38 (part))

2.04.040 Abrogation of agreement—Procedure—Salary.

Nothing in this chapter shall bind the county nor the prosecuting attorney’s office from abrogating the agreement provided for in this chapter upon thirty-days’ notice by either party, and in the event the same is done, the monthly salary of the prosecuting attorney, who also serves as the Skamania County coroner shall be as follows:

Provided that, if the prosecuting attorney continues his agreement with the board of commissioners to refrain from the practice of law, except as provided in RCW 36.27.060(3) and (4), during the term of office from January 1, 1999 through December 31, 2002, the new prosecuting attorney signs such agreement; the monthly salary of the prosecuting attorney shall be as follows:

2.04.050 Private law practice prohibited.

From and after January 1, 1974, the prosecuting attorney shall not engage in the private practice of law, so long as this chapter is in effect, except to the extent that the same has been agreed to by the county commissioners and said agreement has been filed with the county auditor and the board of county commissioners.
