9.20.010 Adoption by reference.
The following sections of Chapter 88.12 RCW are hereby adopted by reference as if the same were fully set forth herein, except that the penalty provisions thereof are superseded by the penalty provisions for this chapter as set forth in SBMC 9.20.040; any reference to felonies or classification of felonies shall refer to the statutes of the state of Washington for definition and prosecution:

9.20.020 Filing of ordinance.
The ordinance codified in this section is adopted in accordance with the provisions of RCW 35A.12.140 and prior to its adoption three copies of the hereinabove enumerated sections of Chapter 88.12 RCW have been filed in the office of the city clerk-treasurer for use and examination by the public. (Ord. 1010C § 4, 1994).
9.20.030 Amendments to Washington statutes automatically included.
The amendment, addition or repeal by the Washington Legislature of any sections of any of the adopted statutes shall be deemed to amend this chapter and the statutes contained herein which are adopted by reference in conformity with the amendment, addition or repeal, and it shall not be necessary for the legislative authority of this city to take any action with respect to such addition, amendment or repeal as provided by RCW 35A.12.140. (Ord. 1010C § 5, 1994).
9.20.035 Registration and display of registration number and decal prerequisite to ownership or operation of vessel – Exceptions – Penalties – Disposition of moneys collected.
A. Except as provided in Chapter 88.02 RCW, no person may own or operate any vessel on waters subject to this chapter unless the vessel has been registered and displays a registration number and a valid decal in accordance with Chapter 88.02 RCW, except that a vessel which has or is required to have a valid marine document as a vessel of the United States is only required to display a valid decal.
B. Except as otherwise provided in Chapter 88.02 RCW, a violation of this section is an infraction punishable by a fine of $100.00.
C. Current registered owner will be responsible for all costs of infraction and impound.
D. Municipal court judges and judges pro tem shall have discretion to assess additional penalties for failure to pay or respond to notices of infractions issued under this section as otherwise allowed by law. (Ord. 1430, 2010).
9.20.040 Violation – Penalty.
Any person, firm, corporation or association violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor or gross misdemeanor as in said chapter provided. (Ord. 1010C § 3, 1994).
