SPEED LIMITS

10.10.010 Division Street.
Automobile and other automotive vehicle speed limits on that portion of state of Washington Primary State Highway No. 16, lying within the corporate limits of the town of Twisp, Washington, a portion of which said highway is also known as Division Street, are hereby established and fixed as follows:
(1) From the east corporate limit boundary to the eastern end of the bridge crossing the Methow River: 35 miles per hour;
(2) From the eastern end of the bridge crossing the Methow River to the northern end of the bridge crossing the Twisp River: 25 miles per hour;
(3) From the northern end of the bridge crossing the Twisp River to the north corporate limit boundary: 35 miles per hour. (Ord. 123 § 1, 1955)
10.10.020 School zones.
Notwithstanding the provisions of TMC 10.10.010, nothing contained in this chapter shall modify, change, alter or amend speed limits established within and for any school zone adjacent or contiguous to said Primary State Highway No. 16. (Ord. 123 § 2, 1955)
10.10.030 Posting of signs.
The police chief of the town of Twisp is hereby authorized and directed to inform the proper authorities of the state of Washington of the enactment and passage of the ordinance codified in this chapter, and in cooperation with such authorities to take immediate steps to post speed limit signs in accordance with the provisions of this chapter.
