10.17.010 Issuance of construction vehicle parking permits.
A. The development service department may issue a construction vehicle parking permit to any licensed contractor, with a city business license, who is engaged in the construction, alteration, or repair of a building or property, or the installation or repair of equipment in such building or on such property, which requires vehicle parking in a parking zone for time periods longer than regularly permitted under this code.
B. Anyone who desires a construction vehicle parking permit must apply in writing to the development services department on such form that the department may require and provide such information and verifications that the department may demand. Applicants must submit evidence of a work contract, job order, or other documentation required by the department. Verification of need may be demonstrated by the issuance of an approved building permit issued by the development services department. Each permit issued by the department shall bear the license number and other identifying data of the vehicle for which it is issued. The permit shall not be transferable between vehicles.
C. The development services department may renew or extend a permit beyond its initial term upon a showing of need. (Ord. 2023-37 § 1, 2023; Ord. 95-20 § 1(part), 1995).
10.17.020 Fees.
Everyone applying for, or seeking renewal of, a construction vehicle parking permit shall pay the following fees per vehicle:
A. One hundred dollars for thirty days; or
B. Forty dollars for seven days.
The fees shall not be prorated for the number of days of use, and the full fee shall be paid even if the length of time that a permit may be needed is less than the periods of time specified herein. (Ord. 2023-37 § 2, 2023; Ord. 95-20 § 1(part), 1995).
10.17.030 Use of a construction vehicle parking permit.
Each construction vehicle parking permit purchased and issued shall be displayed in a conspicuous location on the rear windshield of the construction vehicle for which it is issued during the entire period of time the vehicle is parked in a space in connection with the work for which the permit was issued. If the vehicle does not have a rear windshield or it is not feasible to display the permit on a rear windshield, the permit shall be displayed on the vehicle in a location that is clearly visible from the street or right-of-way. A construction vehicle parking permit may not be used when a vehicle is not being used in connection with the work for which the permit was issued. (Ord. 2023-37 § 3, 2023; Ord. 95-20 § 1(part), 1995).

Anyone who violates or fails to comply with any of the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of an infraction punishable in accordance with Section 1.24.010. Anyone who violates or fails to comply with any of the provisions of this chapter may have any permits revoked by the development services department and may also be prohibited by the department from purchasing future permits. (Ord. 2023-37 § 4, 2023; Ord. 95-20 § 1(part), 1995).
