CIVIC CENTERS – DRUG-FREE ZONES

For the purpose of permitting additional penalties as set forth by RCW 69.50.435, the following locations are designated as civic centers and drug-free zones in the city of Wenatchee:
(1) All publicly owned or operated parks and green spaces as set forth below:
(a) Locomotive Park;
(b) Lincoln Park;
(c) Methow Park;
(d) Highway strips at Russell and Monroe;
(e) Highway strips at Russell and Kittitas;
(f) Pioneer Park;
(g) Washington Park;
(h) Chase Park;
(i) Pennsylvania Park;
(j) Highway strips at Fifth and Emerson;
(k) Highway strips at Fifth and Garfield;
(l) Ninth and Miller triangle;
(m) Western Hills Park (behind Newberry Elementary School);
(n) Wenatchi Park (behind Foothills Middle School);
(o) Memorial Park;
(p) Centennial Park;
(q) Morris Park;
(r) Wal-Mart Park;
(s) Wenatchee Riverfront Park;
(t) Walla Walla Point Park;
(2) Riverfront Park Ice Arena;
(3) City of Wenatchee Swimming Pool;
(4) North Central Washington Museum;
(5) Memorial Hall located at Okanogan and Yakima;
(6) Public Library;
(7) Columbia Station;
(8) Wenatchee Valley College Campus;
(9) Wenatchee Convention Center;
(10) North Central Washington Educational Service District Facility;
(11) Amtrak Station;
(12) Forestry Science Center (on Western Street);
(13) Chelan County Regional Jail;
(14) Wenatchee police department at 135 South Chelan;
(15) Wenatchee fire department offices and training facilities at 136 South Chelan and 1420 Maple;
(16) South Wenatchee Police Substation. (Ord. 2000-05 § 1)
6A.31.020 Civic center environs designated as drug-free zones.
For the purposes of RCW 69.50.435(a)(10), that area of land 1,000 feet from the perimeter of a civic center as designated in WCC 6A.31.010 is also designated as a drug-free zone for the purpose of establishing additional penalties as authorized by RCW 69.50.435. (Ord. 2000-05 § 2)
