9.15.010 Persons deemed vagrants.

All persons who have no visible means of support, or lawful occupation or employment by which to earn a living; all persons who habitually roam about the streets without any lawful business; all idle or insolent persons who live in or about houses of ill fame, or houses for the resort of prostitutes; all habitual drunkards, gamesters, or other disorderly persons, all persons going about as collectors of alms for charitable institutions under any false or fraudulent pretenses; all persons playing or betting in the streets, or public or open places, at or with any table or instrument of gaming at any game or pretended game of chance; all tramps; all persons having no known occupation or business who shall be found wandering about the streets after the hour of 12:00 a.m., shall be deemed vagrants. 9.15.020 Violation – Penalty.

All persons convicted of being vagrants as defined in YMC 9.15.010 shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $100.00 and costs of prosecution, or by imprisonment not exceeding 30 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment, and in default of payment of such fine, may during the time of imprisonment, be compelled to work upon the streets or public grounds of the city, or otherwise, as directed by the city marshal.
