CODE FOR THE ABATEMENT OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS

15.05.010 Title.
The Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings adopted by YMC 15.05.030 is the abatement code for the town of Yacolt and may be cited as such and is referred to in the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings as “this code.” [Ord. 245 § 1, 1983.]
15.05.020 Purpose.
To provide a just, equitable and practical method whereby buildings or structures which from any cause endanger the life, limb, health, morals, property, safety or welfare of the general public or their occupants may be required to be repaired, vacated or demolished. The remedy provided by this code is to be cumulative with and in addition to any other remedy provided by any building code or housing code adopted by the town of Yacolt, or any other remedy available at law. 15.05.030 Adoption.
Certain documents, three copies of which are on file in the office of the clerk of the town of Yacolt, Washington, being marked as the “Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1976 Edition” published by the International Conference of Building Officials is adopted by reference as the abatement code for Yacolt. All provisions of the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings are adopted except Sections 101 and 102 of Chapter 1. This adoption by reference is pursuant to RCW 35.21.180 and 35.27.370 and Chapter 35.80 RCW et seq. [Ord. 245 § 3, 1983.]
15.05.040 Scope.
The provisions of this code shall apply to all dangerous buildings, as herein defined, which are now in existence or which may hereafter become dangerous in this town. [Ord. 245 § 4, 1983.]
15.05.050 Exceptions and amendments.
Whenever any provision of the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings refers to the term “city,” such term shall be construed to mean “town.” [Ord. 245 § 5, 1983.]
