TRANSIT FUND

3.68.010 Fund created—Purpose.
There is created a special fund to be known as the transit fund. The money in the fund shall be used to pay expenses of maintenance and operation, including salaries, and capital needs of the public bus transportation system operated by the city of Yakima. (Ord. 835 § 1 (part), 1966).
3.68.020 Source of funds.
All money derived from the tax imposed by Chapter 3.89, “Transit Sales and Use Tax,” of the City of Yakima Municipal Code and all revenue obtained from operating the public transportation system of the city shall be placed into the transit fund. Additional money may be placed into the fund, from time to time, by the Yakima city council pursuant to and in accordance with applicable laws. (Ord. 2469 § 2, 1980: Ord. 835 § 1 (part), 1966).
3.68.030 Expenditures.
Expenditures from the transit fund shall be made only for the purposes specified in Section 3.68.010. No expenditure shall be made from such fund unless the Yakima city council shall approve such expenditure by passing an ordinance appropriating money within the fund for the purpose for which the expenditure is to be made, or by including an appropriation for such purpose in the budget.
