5.48.010 Allowing minor into pool room.
It is unlawful for the proprietor, keeper, clerk or any other person having the charge or control of any billiard room or pool room in this city to permit, suffer or allow any person under the age of twenty-one years to frequent such billiard room or pool room, or to play or engage in or be present at any game of billiards, pool or any game of skill or chance in such billiard room or pool room. 5.48.020 Minor in pool room.
It is unlawful for any person under the age of twenty-one years to frequent any billiard room or pool room in this city or to play or engage in or be present at any game of billiards, pool or any game of skill or chance in any billiard room or pool room in this city. (Prior code § 2322)
5.48.030 Keeping of register.
It shall be the duty of the proprietor, keeper, clerk or any other person having charge or control of any billiard room or pool room in this city to keep in such billiard room or pool room at all times in a conspicuous and readily accessible position in such billiard room or pool room and subject to inspection by the police officials and by the public, a suitable book or register. 5.48.040 Requiring registration.
In the event that such proprietor, keeper, clerk or other person having charge of such billiard room or pool room shall be in doubt as to the age of any person frequenting or seeking to frequent such billiard room or pool room, or playing or engaging in, or seeking to play or engage in, any game of skill or chance in such billiard room or pool room, it shall be his duty to require such person to sign such register and to write opposite his name, his address and his age at his last birthday. 5.48.050 False registration.
It is unlawful for any person who is requested to sign such register to refuse to do so or to give any false or fictitious name or address or to give his age incorrectly. (Prior code § 2325)
5.48.060 Failure to require registration.
Unless such proprietor, keeper, clerk or other person having charge of such billiard room or pool room has in good faith, complied with all the requirements imposed upon him by Sections 5.48.030 and 5.48.040, his ignorance as to the true age of any person under the age of twenty-one years violating any provision of this chapter shall be no defense to a prosecution for the violation of any provision of this chapter. 5.48.070 When register not required
The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to any establishment where no alcoholic beverages are sold, served or consumed on the premises. (Ord. 417 § 1, 1966: prior code § 2327)
