It is unlawful for any person to use or to sound or cause or permit to be used or sounded, in or upon any public street in this city, any bell, siren, chime, gong, horn, whistle or other alarm, except when necessary to give warning. (Prior code § 6167)
10.44.020 Wheels injurious to streets.
It is unlawful for any person to move or drive or cause or permit to be moved or driven along or upon any paved street in this city any vehicle, tractor or traction engine any tire or wheel of which coming in contact with the surface of such street is worn or is not smooth or has sharp or uneven surface in contact with the surface of such street or any vehicle, tractor or traction engine, to any tire or wheel of which there are attached any cleats, spikes, “grousers” or any device or devices which will cause damage of any kind to the pavement of such street. 10.44.030 Skid chains.
Nothing contained in Section 10.44.020 shall be deemed to prohibit the use of skid chains attached to rubber tires of motor vehicles. (Prior code § 6192)
10.44.040 Placing puncture hazards in street.
It is unlawful for any person to throw, deposit, place or leave, in or upon any public street, any nails, tacks, crockery, scrap iron, tin, wire, bottles, glass, thorns or thorny clippings, or thorny branches of trees or bushes or other article or thing likely to puncture or injure the tire of any vehicle.
